theres always a voice in you,

telling you you are not good enough.

be it the way you look, the work you do, as a person, in every aspects of life.

as much as i tell myself to be contented and be happy:  which i am! i always randomly feel bad about myself.

i'm always looking to improve each and everyday of my life.

although i'm actually a very lazy person sometimes. and i'm an emotional brat.

i like everything thats beautiful to me, i love art, music, design, fashion and food and whatever. these things make me happy.

and most importantly, i need love.

i know theres no perfection. its just a figure of speech.

but theres sure something called 'better' and 'better'.

sometimes i only have the courage to find flaws in myself.

it was a casual conversation with a friend when she talked about many young girls going
under plastic surgeries these days. shes very cynical about them and asked me if i would ever
go under the knife?

i told her,

" i think they are actually very brave. they are willing to endure the pain and consequences.
i for one, cant even take the slightest pain, for gods sake. like the girls, i hate many things about myself and i know that the makeup and styling can only temporarily improve or hide that much. no matter how low the confidence i have in me, i just have no courage at all to go to this extend and
change my look. i respect them for what they have to go through. i look at their perfectly altered faces and i would actually be kinda envious for a moment and then the next minute i would go,
' where did their courage come from?'  "

everytime i look in the mirror and i keep telling myself, " if this is slightly bigger and there is slightly smaller it will be perfect. if i alter my face surgically, i dont even have to put on makeup
or style my hair to enhance my features at all ! haha. "

but i'm still never going to do it.

most importantly, i feel that every part of my body is a gift from my parents, i should cherish and thank them for what they have given me and not try to modify and change into something else for good. i'm healthy and i can see, hear and walk...i have all these. what more can you ask for. i think they will be devastated if i even have the thought of doing it.

still, i respect these girls and it's their choices and lives. for me, i would just explore other options without going through a surgery to look better.

what do you think?

.

you are right :) being too 'perfect' will lose a person's character and uniqueness.

Ii think you are perfect the way you look is fine by me! I think that I feel the same way I so want to get plastic surgery it sucks that i can't be happy with the way i look but id feel happier not being myself. I think minor things would be nice that i don't like but i'm not sure its hard to say for sure everyones purposes are different for this type of thing in less its all for beauty but i think if its for yourself its OK if its for like a guy or something else it depends some people like actors and actresses do it because its for there job and there face is what sells and makes them money. I envy those people. This is by far a really good post that I enjoyed because I think about this constantly everyday. <3 thanks for sharing.

i think you are gorgeous.
i also believe that beauty is not about how you look, nor so much about how you act, but about whether you can learn to accept your own body and others'. if you were to undergo plastic surgery, for me, that would mean that you cannot come to terms with your own body and thus you won't really be beautiful.
unless it's surgery for health reasons, e.g. cleft lip, in which case i'd say go for it. but plastic surgery is rather different from that :)
of course, i'd hate to cast judgment on all who've gone for plastic surgery - this is purely my opinion. i do agree that they are brave, and ultimately i'll never be able to fully understand their feelings and thoughts about their own body, so if my friend decided to go for it i'd still support her (as long as it's an informed decision that she's making!)
p.s. i also have that random voice in my head - it's irritating! every time it comes on, i tell it to shut up and i do something i like.

Mhmm I think most of us girls have had this thought many times in life :) True to what you say, I don't have the courage & as much as I dislike a particular something, its a part of me :) Anyway, do you have to use rollers everyday to get volume ?

And hence the existence of beauty products, procedures, magazines and fashion... all to hide away the true beauty and essence of what maketh woman the way she is... a goddess. Whoever said that the perfect beauty is in the form of Gisele Bunchen? Whoever said that a fair and smooth complexion is the ultimate perfect skin? Whoever said long and flowy straight hair appeals to mankind? Whoever put spots on leopards and eyes on butterfly wings? Insecurity is the downfall of womankind. And Man is evil enough to tap on and monetize on this weakness. An angel sigh.

I don't understand why people get so negative/cynical/critical towards plastic surgery. It is just a self-enhancement and it isn't really against the law of nature too? It's not like you're doing harm to yourself/body like spending thousands of dollars on cigs/booze/drugs. In a way, it gives people the sense of security and confidence. Also, plastic surgery isn't like those kinda body modification that inserts fake bones under your skin or injections to make the forehead bulge or making yourself look like a monster.

What I really feel is, human are jealous of people who are better. Because most of them can't afford it to go under the knife, they despise them. Its almost the same theory as people comment that buying a Lambo in Singapore is stupid and it's a waste of money. Sour grapes. I have def nothing against plastic surgery and I think everyone has their own freedom to improve their lives in any way so long it is not morally wrong and is not a crime.

ANYWAY BABE, you look GREAT. So you don't have to consider plastic surgery at all. :) I would love to see your hair tutorial cause your styling skill looks so good! Don't your hair gets fried up after styling almost everyday? Do you use a curling tong and what kinda hair products you use for styling?

i agree with you, as long as you are comfortable and you know what you are doing than go ahead and do it. you just have to bear with the consequences that come after, and of course the benefits too. :) most importantly, being honest and truthful about it.

thanks, i will try to post up a tutorial on my hair styling soon. i dont style my hair everyday, yes it would definitely damage my hair if i do that every single day haha. but unfortunately my ends are already damaged cos i used to bleach my hair some time ago.
i use a curling iron and i will share with you guys what i use for my hair soon!
